Verizon Wireless ranked “Highest Ranked Wireless
Customer Service Performance in a Tie” in
the J.D. Power and Associates 2006 Wireless Customer
Care Performance Study Volume 2. The study, based
on responses from more than 11,430 wireless users
who contacted customer care within the past 12
months, provides a detailed report card on a semi-annual
basis of wireless provider customer care performance
based on customer experiences with three point-of-contact
methods: telephone with a service representative
and/or automated response system (ARS); walk-in
at a retail store; and online Internet connection.

In its Walker Loyalty Report for Communications
Services, Walker Information found that Verizon
Wireless was the top-performing company in the
wireless service sector and the only one to qualify
as a Loyalty Leader. In the wireless service sector,
Walker Information collected more than 1,500 brand

- ROAD WARRIOR, " Paul Taylor highlights his
experience using a Verizon Wireless EV-DO card
to test the company's BroadbandAccess service in
New York. He notes that, "The card, which
costs Dollars 200, and Verizon's EVDO network deliver
on the promise of offering a desktop broadband-style
experience while on the move."

LAPTOP Magazine, December 2004
LAPTOP Magazine awarded Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess
service with the Editor's Choice Award in its December
2004 issue. According to the articled titled, "Be

In PC Magazine's Annual Reader's Choice Awards
for mobile-phone services providers, Verizon Wireless
excelled in the areas of call quality and coverage
and scored significantly better than average in
areas such as handset selection, customer service,

recommending. Scores received by Verizon Wireless
are based on the responses of 2,042 Verizon Wireless

as Editor's Choice in the October issue of LAPTOP
Magazine. In the article, John Biggs comments, "If

Fitch Ratings upgraded its rating for Verizon Wireless
from A to A+. According to an article about the
ratings, "Verizon Wireless continues to take
market share from the other nationwide operators
through its strong brand, quality network and extensive
distribution network," Fitch added. Fitch
also said that Verizon Wireless has the "cash-generating
capacity to sustain its strong market position
through investing in additional spectrum, increases
in capital spending for capacity and coverage,
and upgrading its network to provide high-speed
wireless data services."

In the Cahners/In-Stat survey, "Into Thin
Air: Residential Wireline Erosion from Wireless
and Other Access Alternatives," senior analyst
Amy Cravens found that "Verizon/Verizon Wireless
was the only provider to consistently be ranked
among the top three providers, in terms of respondents
subscribing to their service for local, long distance,
and wireless phone service. Verizon was the most
frequently selected provider for local and wireless
phone service, and the third most frequently selected

"Consumer experience research firm Vocal Laboratories
reported Verizon Wireless received the highest customer
service quality rating in a recent survey comparing
the quality of customer service of AT&T Wireless

in RCR Wireless News by Dan Meyer. The article went

readers of the newspaper, the "Best of Boro" award

Readers of The Idaho Falls Post Register named

Provider" for 2004. The article announcing
the award cited Verizon Wireless' network reliability

Top Performer in Customer Satisfaction

Verizon Wireless tied for first in overall customer
satisfaction in the Yankee Group's 2004 Mobile
User Survey. Users rated Verizon Wireless among
the best when asked about in-building coverage,
outdoor coverage, voice quality, reliability and
customer service performance. The web-based survey
indicated that customer service "continues
to represent an opportunity for differentiation
in keeping customers loyal and attracting new ones."

Verizon Wireless was recognized at the eighth annual
CDMA Americas Congress of the CDMA Development
Group (CDG) with the organization's Service Innovation
award, given to the operator that has leveraged
the capabilities of 3G to introduce innovative
and industry-leading services to the market.

Verizon Wireless provides the best wireless service
overall at ski lodges from east to west, according
to the December issue of Ski magazine. Among the
resorts where Verizon Wireless was praised for
its peak performance were Alpine Meadows, CA; Sun
Valley, ID; Snowbird, UT; Aspen, CO; Killington,
VT; and Sunday River, ME.

In a review of the Samsung i700, available exclusively
through Verizon Wireless, the company's wireless
network received acclaim. The article notes "In
our tests, however, Verizon has consistently outperformed
Sprint PCS in terms of coverage, so that should
be a factor in your decision."
A Catalyzing Event
The Boston Globe, July 8, 2003
Following the launch of Verizon Wireless' picture
messaging service, The Boston Globe reported: "Verizon
(Wireless') offering...includes a considerably
simpler pricing plan than many of its rival offers." Yankee
Group wireless industry analyst John Jackson is
quoted saying that given that Verizon Wireless
dwarfs other competitors, the service launch "is
a catalyzing event...We're very bullish on the
prospects for picture messaging."

Verizon Wireless' Express Network received a "Best
Buy" rating of five stars, the highest rating
possible, in Laptop Magazine's Cellular Network
Showdown. In a head to head competition of the
largest wireless carriers' high-speed data networks,
the Express Network beat out AT&T, Sprint and
T-Mobile. Laptop reports: "The fast service
and affordable unlimited data transfer plan make
(the Verizon Wireless) network and the Sierra 555
(Aircard) the best in this roundup."

The National Association of Regulatory Utility
Commissioners praised Verizon Wireless CEO Denny
Strigl's announcement that the company would adopt
easy procedures to allow customers to keep their
wireless phone numbers when "porting" their
numbers as they change wireless service providers.
November 24, 2003 is the start date for the wireless
local number portability compliance set by the
Federal Communications Commission. "We give
Verizon Wireless high marks for breaking ranks
and moving forward on implementing this deadline
with no further delay," wrote Bob Nelson of
Michigan, chair of the organization's telecommunications
committee. He added: "The question naturally
arises, if they can and are willing to do it, why
can't the other major carriers do the same."

Data Service" category. Reporter Dave Molta

Business Week Editor Steve Wildstrom recently tested
Verizon Wireless' Get It Now service along with
similar services from Sprint PCS, Nextel, AT&T
Wireless, Alltel and Cingular. He wrote: "I
found Verizon's BREW-based Get It Now service the
slickest offering."

Lowenstein's Lens on Wireless, April 2003
"Lowenstein's Lens on Wireless," a newsletter
by wireless industry analyst Mark Lowenstein, compares
the national wireless carriers on a number of issues.
Lowenstein declares Verizon Wireless is the leader
in customer care. The newsletter also notes that
Verizon Wireless is one of the carriers that are "a
league above the other carriers" in consumer
applications.
Verizon Wireless Shines in Q4

In an analysis of fourth quarter performance for
2002, analyst firm Strategy Analytics compares
the national service providers and finds Verizon
Wireless as "outperforming the market" with "a
strong range of entry level handsets, ample service

gives product recommendations on a variety of technologies

Mark Lowenstein tested and rated Verizon Wireless'
Express Network using the Motorola T720. He stated
that the Express Network "is faster than 2G
and the GPRS services," and that the T720
is "one of the top 2.5G phones available today." In
addition, Lowenstein gave positive reviews of Get
It Now applications and SMS, saying it is "very
fast, transmitting messages nearly instantaneously." He
also praises Verizon Wireless' customer service,
rating it "above the industry average."
